This year’s Castle Combe Steam Rally, held on May 17th and 18th, was not just a weekend of vintage vehicles, steam engines, and family fun – it marked a special milestone for Jessie May: 10 years of incredible support from this wonderful event.
Since 2015, the Castle Combe Steam Rally has been a consistent and generous supporter of Jessie May, raising much-needed funds. We were thrilled to return to the iconic Castle Combe Race Circuit once again and celebrate this long-standing partnership!
The event was everything we’ve come to love about the Castle Combe Steam Rally: an exciting array of steam engines, vintage vehicles, miniature steam models, and vintage machinery. It was an absolute blast, filled with entertainment, laughter, and so much to explore for people of all ages. From the stunning displays of antique cars and trains to the bustling craft stalls, food vendors, and even a house of fun, it felt like a true community celebration.
One of the highlights of the weekend was the falconry display, where families had the chance to get up close to some magnificent birds of prey. And, of course, no event is complete without some delicious treats from the ice cream vans, which were a huge hit with the little ones (and the big ones too!).
What truly makes this event so special, though, is the sense of community that runs through every part of it. You could see it everywhere – families, dogs, vintage car enthusiasts, and rally fans all coming together to enjoy the day. There’s something incredibly heartwarming about a gathering that feels as much about connection and shared experience as it is about having fun.
For Jessie May, the relationship with the Castle Combe Steam Rally has been more than just a fundraising opportunity; it’s become a true partnership. We have been humbled and inspired by the generosity of everyone involved.
This year’s rally raised a total of £1589.37 in donations through the bucket collection alone – an incredible amount that will make a real difference to the families we support.
Community Fundraiser, Kat Mann, shared her thoughts on the event:
“What a fab event! This was my first ever steam rally and I absolutely loved it! I’m aware of the long-standing relationship between Jessie May and Castle Combe Steam Rally and how they have raised lots of money for us over the years, and this year’s event did not disappoint. We have raised even more money than last year! I was overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness of those who attended and know that every penny raised will help the families we support. To everyone who donated, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
It’s through events like these that we are able to keep providing the care and support that means so much to the families we support.
As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of support from the Castle Combe Steam Rally, we are filled with gratitude for everything the event has done for Jessie May.
