This summer, three incredible young supporters have taken on exciting challenges to raise money for Jessie May – and together, they’ve raised thousands to help support children and families in our care. We are so proud of them, and grateful to their families and friends for cheering them on every step of the way.
Octavia’s Pop-Up Café

Five-year-old Octavia Gurney decided she wanted to “help Archie” – and so, with the support of her family, she hosted her very own pop-up café! From baking cakes, picking flowers for the tables, and setting up the family’s front patio, Octavia put her heart into every detail. Her hard work paid off, raising over £650 so far, with hopes to reach £1,500+ by the end of the summer.
Her mum Christina said:
“I’m so proud of Octavia for saying that she wanted to raise money for charity and in particular ‘help Archie’. She is a very giving little lady & wants to help everyone so I’m really happy that we could support her in making it happen ❤️. Hopefully we can make the pop-up café an annual fundraising event – Octavia had so much fun and it was lovely that so many people turned up to support!”
Joseph’s 100-Mile Cycling Challenge
Seven-year-old Joseph has been cycling an incredible 100 miles over the school holidays to raise money for Jessie May – and he’s already pedalled his way to more than £600!
His mum Sam shared:
“Joseph is the most determined little boy. During school he has to work super hard, a little harder than most, but when it comes to being active and a challenge he shines the brightest. He asked if he could raise some money to help parents with poorly children… Jessie May seemed the perfect charity. He is full of energy and loves being active – he’s a determined 7-year-old who will do his best to raise as much as possible for you.”

Iyla’s Junior Tough Mudder

Meanwhile, Iyla took on the Junior Tough Mudder last weekend – and absolutely smashed it! Running, climbing, and tackling muddy obstacles, she raised an amazing £1,624 for Jessie May.
Her dad Mitch said:
“She got on so well, absolutely smashed it out the park and we’re super proud of her! It was a pleasure doing what we could for the Jessie May Trust.”
From all of us at Jessie May, we want to say the biggest thank you to Octavia, Joseph, and Iyla – and to their families and supporters. Not only have they raised an incredible amount, but they’ve also shown just how inspiring the next generation of fundraisers can be.
