You now have 400 words to explain why you are nominating Jessie May, why it is so close to your heart and how much funding you think we should have (between £2,000 – £20,000) and how much this funding could help.

We have put together a short statement that you can use to base your answer off below:

“Jessie May supports terminally ill and life limited children, and their families, across the South West with respite care and support in their own home.

Jessie May nurses provide regular, three-hour respite visits, family support events to reduce isolation, end of life care that empowers families to give their child the death they want in their own home and ongoing bereavement support for families after a child has died.

A Jessie May Nurses costs £30,000 a year, and every penny they get helps Jessie May Nurses to continue to support children and families across the South West with this FREE at home care service. £312 pays for a dedicated respite visit allowing parents and siblings a break from their caring responsibilities, so a donation of £7,500 would help to support a terminally-ill child and their family with regular respite visits for an entire year meaning that they don’t have to cope alone.”
