The Castle Combe Steam Rally has long been one of the highlights in the Jessie May calendar. Unfortunately, due to ongoing COVID restrictions, this year’s event like so many others, has been cancelled.

Chairman, Dennis March recently released a statement regarding the future of the Steam Rally;

“It is with great sadness that we have to announce that the 2021 Rally which was due to be held on 22nd & 23rd May this year is postponed.

With the ‘Road Map out of Lockdown’ published we are unable to hold our usual rally; this is a great disappointment to the public, exhibitors, stall holders, the chosen charity (Jessie May) and the team that organises the show.

We will be holding the rally in May 2022 (situation permitting) and will announce the actual date when we are able.

To all our supporters please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you then.”

Everyone here at Jessie May are so sorry to hear that the Steam Rally has been cancelled, but we know that the 2022 show will be amazing and we are so proud to continue to be the Rally’s nominated charity. It is sure to draw huge crowds, as visitors will realise how much they have missed this incredible event, and how it brings like-minded people together.

What is the Castle Combe Steam Rally?

For those who have never been before, the rally is an amazing weekend full of incredible events and stalls, providing hours of family fun. What can you see at the rally you ask? Maybe you should ask what can’t you see!

Start your day with a ride on a trailer being pulled by one of the BIGGEST tractors you’ll ever see. Then you are greeted with a cornucopia of delights from monster to miniature steam engines, classic cars and everything vintage.  Watch terrier racing in the main arena, daredevil motorbike riders of all ages, sheep herding and row after row of beautiful tractors shining in the sun.

Visit stalls selling everything from car parts to country-wear, toys for all ages, hats and walking sticks, memorabilia from times long gone and craft supplies.  Sit with a picnic and listen to a steam organ, or buy chips, candy floss, hot dogs and speciality coffees as you wander around taking in the sights.

We are proud to have been the Rally’s charity partner since 2015, with an incredible £23,474 raised over those 6 years in support of local terminally ill children.

We want to take this time to say a huge thank you to everyone involved at the Castle Combe Steam Rally, and we can’t wait to be back together with you in 2022!
