Neil Robertson, winner of the Coral World Grand Prix

At the beginning of the week at the Coral Word Grand Prix, tournament sponsor Coral announced that they would once again be donating to World Snooker Tour’s official charity – us!

Over the course of the Coral Series last year, the bookmakers donated an incredible £8,100, and are looking to smash this target with the fine form players are in this season.

The tournament, held at Cheltenham Racecourse between 2nd – 9th February saw 33 centuries made, with the first of those coming from our own ambassador, and World Number One, Judd Trump.

The final saw Neil Robertson lift the trophy with 10-8 victory over Graeme Dott, with the Thunder Down Under hitting the last century after a 142 break in the final itself.

Lindsey Horton, Jessie May Corporate Partnerships Officer praised all of the players by saying;

It is unbelievable to hear that through the century breaks Coral have generously donated £3,300 to support our Jessie May Nurses already. At this stage last year we had seen 25 century breaks made, so they’ve completely smashed this record, and it’s all thanks to the incredible form of the players themselves.

We look forward to the remaining two fixtures ahead in the Coral Cup at Southport and Llandudno, getting more chances to meet with snooker fans and hopefully see more players hit that hundred!
